So it's more like a hmm.. lets see if I understand... whilst it is my to be arch-related tasks will it be limited to that or do users have the options to make nothing not related to arch?

So the programmer creates some type of software he's willing to create, donators support the project, programmer implements the project. Once the final task he receives the money. ... hmm reading more of it it seems interesting idea but so complex to manage and keep it together (the people).

A suggestion, might not be loved for tons of people but take a small percent for using the service to pay host and donate to archlinux team. (still getting familiar with the users in arch linux and community members daily contributing in both irc and mailing list so sorry if this sounds a bit awkward!)

Best wishes!

I like the idea but I doubt archlinux has the best userbase for it. It is my perception that Arch users are mostly hobbyist and while some users said they were using Arch for production use it's surely far less than Debian or CentOS for example.

That said, I think it could be great for Arch to make known what is needed and maybe get users more involved in the process. My involvement with the Arch project is currently limited to maintaining some packages in AUR (I have 13 now! it's like pokemon you always want more :P) but I might be interested to do more if I see a project I feel competent in.

As for the application, it looks like a good start. Would be a good feature to be able to "adopt" a project to be able to track it more easily.
